Our Story

The founder

Meet Nick Lavery

A U.S. Army Green Beret. The work was dangerous. The stakes were high. The standards were non-negotiable.

Afghanistan

The Attack

Nick and his team fell victim to an insider attack. 12 U.S. casualties, 3 of which were killed in action. Nick ultimately lost his leg above the knee.

Aftermath

The Hard Part

Recovery was not a comeback montage. It was surgery, pain, doubt, and one objective after another.

Return

Back To The Team

He refused medical retirement, rebuilt capability, defied all odds, and is considered the first Special Operator in military history to return to combat as an above-the-knee amputee.

The name

The Machine

Locals referred to him as “The Machine Fighter.” This became his callsign. The standard was set.

MCHN

Execute Anyway

Machine is the unrelenting drive and the desire to execute the mission fully, no matter the obstacle.

Why MCHN

Why MCHN?

One standard: execution under pressure, made accessible to everyone.

The standard, made accessible

Nick “The Machine” Lavery earned that nickname through a refusal to quit, a commitment to the mission, and a standard of execution that remained unchanged despite adversity. He built MCHN to make that standard accessible to everyone.
